Dupont C8 Class Action Lawsuits And Dupont C8 Lawsuits
A Dupont c8 class action lawsuit was brought against DuPont in 2001 for C8 water contamination by victims from the Mid-Ohio Valley. Part of the terms of the 2005 Dupont c8 class action lawsuit settlement established a medical monitoring fund, and a C8 science panel that was to determine the links between specific health conditions and C8 exposure. Dupont c8 Personal injury lawsuits and Dupont c8 wrongful death lawsuits filed at that time were put on hold until the panel determined the health effects of C8. Last October, the panel released its final report linking C8 exposure to a variety of serious health conditions and diseases.
Dupont C8 Lawsuit Consolidated Into MDL
Since the panel’s findings, Dupont c8 lawsuits filed against DuPont have continued to grow, and on April 8, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation consolidated Dupont c8 lawsuits filed against DuPont to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio under Judge Edmund Sargus. Under the terms of the 2005 settlement, DuPont will not dispute that C8 can cause any of the conditions or diseases the panel determined to be caused by C8 exposure.
At least one Dupont c8 wrongful death lawsuit filed against DuPont alleges that the plaintiff’s husbands died from kidney cancer injuries in 2008. The plaintiff told the WV Gazette last year, “We lived on DuPont Road for years. Only this year did we find out that water we were drinking may have made my husband sick.”
Another Dupont c8 lawsuit filed against the company says the plaintiff suffers kidney cancer, thyroid disease, has had one kidney removed and is in third-stage renal failure in her other. She told the News and Sentinel “Its’ been hard. It’s kind of messed up my whole life. When they finally announced the things that were caused by C8 and I had two or three of them, it dawned on me – well it must have some connection to me.”
