Melville, Like the Rest of Long Island Has Excellent Public Schools
Most people who live on Long Island know that it has outstanding public schools. The school district is often an important factor in a family’s decision to relocate here. While Melville is a hamlet on Long Island that does not have its own unique school system, it is part of the larger Half Hollow Hills Central School District (HHH) which has a stellar reputation.
There are three distinct neighborhoods or sections of Melville and the kids in each neighborhood have the opportunity to attend a public K-5 school. Most, if not all, students living in Melville can go to Sunquam elementary School. Other kids in the HHH district usually attend one of the elementary schools in nearby Dix Hills.
